How does SimpleBills estimate my final bill?

We calculate your estimated final bill based on 90-120 days of your own past utility usage at your current address. More details:

● For each utility, we look at the last three or four billing cycles before the date of your estimated final bill, enough to include at least 90 days. We take the total of the charges across these previous billing cycles and divide by the number of days in these previous billing cycles. That gives us a per diem amount for each utility.

● We multiply that per diem amount by the number of days between the date of your estimated final bill and the date the property gives us as your move out date. We do this for each utility. Note that the estimated final billing period (to which we apply the per diem amount) may be longer than your normal monthly billing cycle.

● We show the resulting estimated amount for each utility on your estimated final bill.

● If you pay a monthly SimpleBills service fee, we will also include that fee for each month for which utility usage is being estimated.

All in all, our goal is to give you a fair estimate for your final bill much quicker than you would receive an actual final bill from a utility provider.

You may have the option to request a true up of your estimated final bill to the actual utility bills we receive for the estimated period. For more information, see What does it mean to true-up to my actual final bill? and Should I request a true-up to my actual final bill?
