If I have an active lease, but don't live there, do I have to pay for utilities?

Do you use SimpleBills through your property? If the answer is yes, or if the property is the utility account holder, then you are required to pay for utility usage that occurs up until your lease date expires, or another resident takes over the lease.

Do you use SimpleBills on your own and the utilities are in your name or a roommates' name? Let us know, and we can request roommate permission to adjust your end-date and release you from utility responsibilities. If all roommates give their consent, you may be removed from the bill. The bill would be divided between the remaining roommates.

If you have a subleaser, the subleaser may sign up for SimpleBills to assume your portion of the utilities. Contact us so we can ensure the bill is divided properly!
