What to expect when a bill remains past due:
- A late fee is usually assessed. (Typically this will be a percentage of the bill, determined by region)
- If there is still not a successful payment made, Simplebills may attempt to collect payment from the payment method on file for the outstanding balance.
- If the late payment withdrawal is unsuccessful, bills may be forwarded to the property as an unpaid utility portion to be collected with their rent ledgers.
In certain situations, the monthly fee and late fee could remain on your SimpleBills account available for payment but the utility bill portions are sent to your property. Payment of those bills is settled directly with the property.
